CAROL SINGING

On Wednesday evening we shall be Carol Singing and distributing Christmas literature in the Great Oaks Estate.   Please come early enough to leave promptly at 7.30 p.m.   Those who are not sufficiently fit to walk round the estate can support the singing in prayer in the Church.   After the Carol singing there will be coffee and mince pies in the Church.

There is a further opportunity to witness through carol singing at 6.30 p.m. Friday in Morrisons foyer.   If you are not involved in the rehearsals for Sunday morning please come along then.

CHRISTMAS CAROL CONCERT

The Dorothy Adams Singers are holding a Christmas Carol Concert at 8.00 p.m. on Thursday here in Bethesda.   Tickets, which cost £5.00 in aid of Cariad Kenya, are available from Geraint or Margaret Stephens.

COFFEE AND CAKE

Free tickets are available from Jean Harris for the Coffee and Cake Morning this Friday 19th December at 10.15 a.m.   Please see Jean for a ticket in order that catering may be arranged.

CHRISTMAS CARDS

This year there will not be a Church postbox as, in previous years, this has prevented some from being part of worship.    Instead it has been suggested that those who wish to, may give a Christmas Card for display in the Church.   Donations may be given towards the work of Tear Fund.

The Retiring Offerings of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day will be in aid of Victory Outreach.    Please put Gift Aid numbers on gifts to both Tear Fund and Victory Outreach so that we may maximise the amount given.

STAMPS FOR B.M.S.

At this time of year we receive increased mail.   Last year B.M.S. World Mission was able to raise more than £14,000, more than ever before, by selling used stamps.   Boxes are available for your used stamps, with an inch of envelope around them.

Tear  Fund

The people of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) are still in desperate need of food, shelter and medical attention.   More than 250,000 have been forced from their homes in this recent round of fighting, which had been simmering for some time and flared up in October.

Tearfund partners PEAC, Heal Africa, and PPSSP are working with the displaced population, providing trauma counselling, water, sanitation, food and other essential items.   Please pray

·         that Tear Fund partners will enjoy God’s continued protection and strength as they do his work.

·         for them, relief teams and staff as they assess the current situation and develop projects to meet the needs of those affected by the current crisis.

·         for the thousands of mothers and children who will spend Christmas in makeshift shelters in camps, church buildings and schools.   Pray that they will experience God’s love and provision.

·         that all the political leaders who are involved in DRC, including those in the international community, will continue to work towards a peaceful resolution and remain committed to bringing an end to the conflict, so people can go back to their homes and enjoy living in a stable and peaceful country.
